Where do my donations go?
Chain Reaction for a Cure funds will be used exclusively to support
innovative breast cancer research. CRFC was incorporated to address a
crucial lack of funding for clinical and translational research, and to bring lifesaving
discoveries from the laboratory to the bedside of every woman suffering
from this disease. Grants will be awarded based on criteria set out
in our Grant Info section after evaluation by our Grant Review Board.
Awards will be presented to selected recipients on a quarterly basis.
Chain Reaction's goal is to become the largest
non-governmental source of funding for breast
cancer research worldwide. We are committed
to using 95% of donations raised from
individual "chain reactions" to
directly fund cancer research. We plan to
achieve this goal by joining forces with
our corporate sponsors to help subsidize
operational expenses. Working together,
we know we can find a cure in our lifetime.

How safe & secure is my donation?
We understand that you may be concerned about privacy issues that
surround the use of the Internet. And, we believe that you should
have control over who receives your personal information, whether
it concerns where you live, what your interests are, or how you
choose to conduct transactions. We do not use the personal information
that you provide, except to complete the donation and facilitate CRFC's
fund-raising program. We will never sell, trade,
or rent your personal information to other individuals or companies.

Are the credit card donations secured?
CRFC uses industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep your personal
information as secure as possible. We are working with partners that provide
a secure and safe environment for credit card donations. The SSL (secure socket layer) protocol
is the web standard for encrypting communications between users and web sites.
Data sent via an SSL connection is protected by encryption, a mechanism that prevents
eavesdropping and tampering with any transmitted data. SSL provides businesses and
consumers with the confidence that private data sent to a web site, such as credit
card numbers, are kept confidential.

What if I choose a person to join my "chain reaction" who is already part of a "chain reaction"?
Everyone has an email address that is unique.
Our database compares each person joining a
chain reaction with the people ("links")
already in the system. Once a person becomes
a "link", it will not be
possible for someone else to designate them as
one of their potential links for a period of one year.

Is this a chain letter?
Absolutely not. We are promoting funding for the advancement
of breast cancer research in the hope of finding a cure. We ask
that participants invite only people they know very well to become
a "link" to a cure. Invited individual "links" will be encouraged to opt
out and ask their sponsor to find another "link" if they do not want to
participate. The key to success of CRFC is to make sure all links are strong.
This program will only work if participants limit who they ask to participate.
Each strong link has the potential of creating a chain reaction that
can raise millions of dollars.
